How it works

Dates are counted on the Gregorian calendar using whole days, with no time zones or daylight-saving changes involved, so the answer is the same wherever you are. Type each date as day, month and year — the keyboard works, including Arabic digits.

Exact age

Your age is the number of complete years since your birthday, then complete months, then the remaining days. When the day of the month is smaller than your birth day, one month is “borrowed” using the length of the previous month.

Worked example. Born on 15 May 1990, on 5 November 2026: from 15 May 1990 to 15 May 2026 is 36 years; 15 May to 15 October is 5 months; 15 October to 5 November is 21 days (October has 31 days). Age = 36 years, 5 months and 21 days, which is 13,323 days in total.

People born on 29 February celebrate on 28 February in common years in this calculator; some countries use 1 March for legal purposes.

Days between two dates

days = date₂ − date₁ (+1 if the end date is included)

From 1 January to 31 December 2026 is 364 days; tick “include the end date” to get 365, which is how many calendar days a contract or a leave period usually covers.

Adding or subtracting days, weeks, months and years

Years and months are added first, then weeks and days. If the target month is shorter, the date moves to its last day: 31 January + 1 month = 28 February 2026 (or 29 February in a leap year).

Working days

Working days are counted with both the start and end dates included, minus your weekend days. Choose Friday + Saturday (Egypt, Saudi Arabia and most of the Gulf), Saturday + Sunday (UAE since 2022, Europe and the Americas), or a single day. Public holidays differ by country and year, so subtract them yourself. Example: November 2026 has 30 days, of which 22 are working days with a Friday–Saturday weekend and 21 with a Saturday–Sunday weekend.

Leap years follow the Gregorian rule: every year divisible by 4, except century years that are not divisible by 400 (2000 was a leap year, 2100 will not be). For Islamic dates, use the Hijri ↔ Gregorian converter.

Sources & assumptions

Proleptic Gregorian calendar, whole days in UTC. 29 February birthdays fall on 28 February in common years. Public holidays are not included in working days.

Frequently asked questions

How is my exact age calculated?

Complete years since your last birthday, then complete months, then the remaining days. The calculator also shows the same age as total months, weeks and days.

Does the end date count as a day?

By default the difference does not include the end date (like counting nights). Tick “Include the end date” to count both the first and last days.

Which weekend should I choose for working days?

Pick the days off where you work: Friday + Saturday in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman; Saturday + Sunday in the UAE and most of the world.

Are public holidays excluded?

No. Holidays change every year and between countries, so the result counts only weekends. Subtract official holidays yourself.

What happens with a 29 February birthday?

In years without 29 February the calculator treats 28 February as your birthday, so your age increases on that day.

Can I calculate my age in Hijri years?

Convert your birth date with the Hijri converter first. Hijri years are about 11 days shorter, so your Hijri age is usually one year higher after age 33.
