How it works
Knowing the exact date of the upcoming salary deposit—and how weekend adjustment rules shift the payout day—helps households manage bill payments, loan installments, and monthly savings. This live payday countdown automatically detects today’s date, applies the official weekend shift rules for each disbursement schedule, and builds a 6-month forward table showing both Gregorian and Umm al-Qura Hijri dates.
Official Salary & Pension Disbursement Rules (2026)
Each government and social support program follows a strict calendar rule when the scheduled payout day coincides with a Friday–Saturday weekend:
| Payroll Schedule | Base Day of Month | If Base Day Is Friday | If Base Day Is Saturday |
|---|---|---|---|
| Saudi Government Employees (Ministry of Finance) | 27th of Gregorian month | Advanced to Thursday (26th) | Moved to Sunday (28th) |
| Saudi GOSI & Civil/Military Retirees | 1st of Gregorian month | Advanced to Thursday (last day of prior month) | Advanced to Thursday |
| Saudi Citizen Account (Hisab Al-Muwatin) | 10th of Gregorian month | Advanced to Thursday (9th) | Moved to Sunday (11th) |
| Egypt Government Payroll (Ministry of Finance) | 24th of Gregorian month | Advanced to Thursday (23rd) | Moved to Sunday (25th) |
| UAE Federal Government Payroll | 28th of Gregorian month | Paid on Friday (or prior working day) | Advanced to Friday (27th) |
| Private Sector / Custom Payday | Any day (1st to 31st) | Exact day of month | Exact day of month |
Why Saudi Government Paydays Shift on Weekends
Following the Royal Decree that transitioned state payrolls to the Gregorian calendar on the 27th of each month, the Saudi Ministry of Finance established a permanent banking settlement rule through the SARIE system: because Friday and Saturday are official banking holidays in the Kingdom, a Friday payday is brought forward by one day to Thursday (the 26th) so employees have access to funds before the weekend, whereas a Saturday payday is settled on the first working day of the new week, Sunday (the 28th).
Suppose you are checking the Saudi Government Payroll (27th rule):
- If the 27th of the month falls on a Tuesday, salaries are deposited on Tuesday the 27th.
- If the 27th falls on a Friday, salaries are deposited early on Thursday the 26th.
- If the 27th falls on a Saturday, salaries are deposited on Sunday the 28th.
- For GOSI pensioners (1st of each month), if the 1st of the month falls on either Friday or Saturday, GOSI advances the pension deposit to the preceding Thursday.
6-Month Forward Payroll Table
Beneath the main countdown card, the calculator generates an automatic 6-month payroll calendar starting from the current month. Each row lists the month, the exact adjusted Gregorian payout date, and the corresponding Hijri date so you can coordinate rent, school tuition, and Ramadan or Eid expenses months in advance.
